Northridge Veterinary Center was co-founded in 1993 by David A. Smith, DVM and Ronald S. Summers, DVM. Rocked by the massive Northridge Earthquake in 1994, this young business showed resilience and did not stop from continuing to provide expert veterinary care because of a little seismic activity. To this day, we still embody this culture of caring under the 55 years of combined experience between our two doctors. We pride ourselves in mentoring a staff that has ambitions to one day become veterinarians and other professional positions in the veterinary field. In turn, this creates a culture of passion and scholarship which is felt by our clients and patients alike.

Expert Medical Care
We are a full-service veterinary hospital and veterinary medical clinic that provides care for all your pets, including exotics.
Surgery
In addition to spays and neuters, we also perform various other soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
Boarding
With seperate facilities for both cats and dogs, we can provide a cozy home for your pet while you're away. Don't fret about exotics, we house them too!
Meet the Staff
Dr. Dave Smith is a General Practitioner and has co-owned Northridge Veterinary Center since its founding in 1993. He practices medicine, surgery, and sees exotic pets.
Dr. Smith double majored in Chemistry & Biology at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) for his undergraduate studies. He then attended the University of California at Davis (UCD) School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1987.
He shares his home with a young Golden Retriever named Callahan. When not at the hospital, he enjoys wilderness backpacking, camping, and wine tasting.
Dr. Ron Summers is a General Practitioner and has co-owned Northridge Veterinary Center since its founding in 1993. He practices medicine and surgery.
Dr. Summers majored in Biology at Occidental College for his undergraduate studies. He then attended the University of California at Davis (UCD) School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1987.
He, his wife, and daughter share their home with a cat named Indiana Jonesy, a mixed-breed dog named Izze, and a Cockatiel named Shiny. When not at the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and antiquing.
Gayl Gluck is the manager of Northridge Veterinary Center. She is new to the veterinary field but animals have always played an important role in her life. She has a soft spot for labradors as well as puppies of all shapes and sizes. Gayl has an outgoing personality and is a charismatic leader. Under her leadership and management, the business has grown and enjoyed times of both prosperity and stability.
When not at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons, and her yellow lab, Rooney. She is an avid soccer mom and an expert baker. In the little free time she has, Gayl spends it catching flies by their wings with chopsticks.
